Entry of My Choice

*Why did I chose to read this book?
When I came into the library to choose a book, in my memory, I think there where 5 to 6 books that I could chose. So why did I chose to read "Fahrenehit 451?" There is no typical reason for this but I chose to read this book because from all of the other books, this book the most powerful and strong color which attracted my eyes. "Fahrenheit 451"...what would that mean? As you can see, if you pick this book up the first thing you would see is the title. The book of this title made me curious about this book and I could see that right below the title, there was small words written '...The temperature at which books burn.' Isn' t that curious? Well, at least it drew my attention!
When I choose a book to read it is important for me to choose a book that is very interesting to read or else, I get bored and exhausted of it which causes me to quit reading it. Therefore, when I choose a book, the first thing I do is reading the title, and then looking at the first page. If you see the first page of this book, it starts with ""It was a pleasure to burn." Now, that really drew my attention to the book. This book just didn't start with this lame words like introducing the main character, it started out with this curious words that you wouldn't understand. The "curiosity" made me want to read this book and overall, I feel that this book was quite good to read. There are acutually some parts that are boring, but overall story of this book was interesting to me. So, if you haven't decide what to read for your second book, try reading "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury!!

I totally agree with you. The reasons you listed are basically the same reasons why I chose this book as well. How the book cover looks like is a biggie when it comes to choosing books. That is the first thing I notice about a book, so if it is colourful and interesting like (just like Fahrenheit 451) I’ll probably read it.
I also read the back and the first page like you did. It seemed like an action-packed, fun book. Also, people recommended it to me. That was another reason why I chose this book.
But I can’t really agree with you on saying that people should read Fahrenheit 451. lo:) I personally think it is a boring and hard book. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. But then again, people have different persecptives. So some could actually enjoy this book. I basically just saying that I didn’t enjoy it.
Anways, good entry=) I liked how you explained your self fully.

I agree!!! The book just GRABS the reader's attention starting from the first page. I was totally absorbed when I first read it. However, after the first page, I think it got really weird and boring... It was really confusing and so I didn't get what was heppening. I was like "Huh? What the heck is the HOUND? Why is it even important?" And Ray Bradbury started to get really random too... But in the end it all made sense and now I look back and it wasn't such a bad book :) I think it was good that you enjoyed it lol

You just listed everything that I thought about when I was grabbing this book to check out in the library. The title and its fame grabbed my attention. Also, the first page was really interesting too. "It was a pleasure to burn." I mean who wouldn't get interested and curious by a first sentence of the book like that? However, the book didn't really get into my expectations... I thought that it would be a really fun book. However, it was just like a normal science fiction book... All the confusing and boring words, metaphors, mood, and the tone made the book very hard to concentrate and complicated. But I could learn many morals, lessons and getting to know the theme of reading book so I thought that it was a good book to read. =)
Well DoNE ;)
